2011 Bentley Continental GT Launched

Bentley has recently revealed its new 2011 Continental GT at the Paris Motor Show, which ran from October 2nd-17th. The car is certainly going to be a head turner:-based on its  predecessor which was launched in 2003, this GT still retains its quad front headlamps and front grilles, apart from the main bumper grille seems longer and is separated in two by a thin chrome strip, which adds to the muscular look of the car. The Conti itself sits lower and is squatter than its predecessor, and at the rear the bootlid is raised slightly more than the old model, and the rear lights retain a similar shape to the original, but they have been made slightly wider and shorter, and they curve slightly around the corners of the rear wings. Bentley have kept the narrow twin tailpipes found on the GT Speed model- a good thing, it helps Bentley obtain a sense of design element uniqueness!

Bentley will also be offering up an alternative to the traditional Conti W12 powerplant in the form of a new, small 4.0 litre V8 engine, which will reduce emissions by up to 40% over the standard W12. However, for the power-conscious Bentley-buyers out there, the new, revised W12 engine has an increased power output from 552bhp to 567bhp. The car also has a new FlexFuel feature, which enables drivers to fill the car with either standard unleaded petrol or bioethanol, up to E85. All in all, the new Bentley Continental GT sounds like a fantastic car; it just remains to see if it will live up to the high standards of its predecessor.
